GJ housing vacancy decreases to 7.9 percent in third quarter
Grand Junction’s rental housing vacancy rate decreased by one percent between the second and third quarters of the year, landing at 7.9 percent in September, according to information released today by the Colorado Division of Housing.
The third quarter had the lowest vacancy rate in the city since the third quarter of 2009, when the rate was 7.9 percent. The rate has decreased locally every quarter since peaking at 13.2 percent at the end of 2009.
Rent on average decreased $18.73 year-over-year to $655.58 in the third quarter of 2010 and increased $21.10 compared to the second quarter.
