GJ Special Olympics team brings home medals

Grand Junction’s Special Olympics team Team Powderhorn recently brought back 18 gold, silver and bronze medals from the 2010 Special Olympic Winter Games at Copper Mountain.

Eighteen of the 19 team members won medals in every division and in both ski and snowboard races. The games attracted about 300 participants from around Colorado. 

Competitors from Team Powderhorn are Jacob Below, Andrea Essex, Kali Gromke, Tad Hampton, Jason Hilbert, Nichole Lanzl, Erin Loucks, Eric Luebke, Brandon Maser, Ashley McKinney, Mike McKinney, Wendy Newsom, Nela Polan, Crystal Prinster, Logan Purser, Justin Rancier, Matthew Stavast and Terry Summers.
