GJ woman, 86, killed in crash in Oregon

A Grand Junction woman was killed Monday after losing control of her vehicle while driving over an icy pass in Oregon, authorities said.

Deana May Igoe, 86, was pronounced dead at the scene after her 2008 Ford Fusion went out of control on Santiam Pass along U.S. Highway 20 in central Oregon. Her vehicle slid and crashed into an oncoming 2013 Volvo sport-utility vehicle occupied by two people, according to a news release from Oregon State Police.

The crash was reported to authorities at 9:13 a.m. Monday.

The occupants of the Volvo suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, and they were transported to a hospital in Bend.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed in both vehicles during the crash, police said.
