GJFD responds to roof fire

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a fire 618 1/2 Indian Creek Drive just after 9 p.m. Sunday night. All residents and pets were able to escape the home without injury. Heavy smoke and fire were found near the exterior of the chimney. A second crew found fire in the attic and removed areas of the ceiling in order to extinguish the flames. The damage to the home is moderate to heavy. The cause is still under investigation.
