GJHS announces hiring of baseball coach
Grand Junction High School has officially hired Donnie Alexander to coach the varsity baseball program, athletic director Ned Pollert announced.
Alexander, 40, was recently an assistant coach for the Palisade High School freshman team, but was a pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Lamar Community College and Central Arizona College. He was a pitcher at the University of Northern Colorado, where he set three school records.
Alexander replaces Kyle Rush, who resigned after 12 seasons.
