Go play at Powderhorn

“The year is 2114 and a meteor impact has broken off massive chunks of the polar ice caps into the oceans, causing massive tsunami waves that have leveled major coastal cities worldwide. In the chaos following the disaster, sea levels have risen quickly and violently, forcing survivors to retreat to ever higher and higher elevations.”

Welcome to Powderhorn Mountain Resort and the Battle of Powderhorn Paint Ball Scenario, set to play out Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2–3, in the aspen forest, spruce and scrub oak and along the roads, trails, clearings and creeks at the resort.

“Major world powers have collapsed and rival factions will battle each other for control of the highlands in an area called ‘the Powderhorn.’ “

The fantasy paint ball scenario is part of the resort’s Outdoor Fest on Saturday and Sunday that will feature a plethora of fun activities. Scenic chairlift rides, bag jump and bungee trampolines will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days,  and food and beverages will be available at the Sunset Bar and Grill. Live music is planned for Saturday and Sunday. Parking costs $10 per vehicle for the day.

The Mountain Man Movie Night will feature “Puss in Boots” beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday. Take a blanket and chairs. No outside food or beverages. There will be parking fee for the movie.

A disc golf tournament also is scheduled for Sunday.
