‘Good Morning America’ taps Kannah Creek ale

Local brewery Kannah Creek Brewing Co.took the national stage recently when one its beers was featured on the television show, “Good Morning America”.

Guest Julia Herz, publisher of CraftBeer.com and the program director for the Brewers Association, presented Kannah Creek’s Crossed Irons Irish Ale as one of several microbrews that pair well with Irish food, in advance of St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

During the March 5 broadcast, Herz paired the locally made red ale with potato, cheddar bacon soup. Kannah Creek officials were unaware their beer would be featured on the television show, but were pleased to hear the news, according to Kannah Creek’s Facebook site.

Crossed Irons Irish Ale was renamed from its original seasonal offering, Monument Red. The new name is used to help raise proceeds for a local firefighter who was diagnosed with leukemia. Crossed Irons refers to the tools firefighters carry.

It’s a “great small Colorado brewery here,” Herz said. “They’re doing it and bringing it home. We have amazing domestic beer.”
