GOP candidate Tipton takes campaign to Rifle

RIFLE — Republican state Rep. Scott Tipton is taking advantage of the congressional calendar to continue his effort to unseat Democratic congressman John Salazar.

Members of Congress are preparing to return to work after a summer recess. Tipton is planning another town hall-style meeting with voters in Rifle today.

Tipton is in a rematch against Salazar, who beat Tipton in 2006. This time around, Tipton says, voters in the 3rd Congressional District are in an anti-incumbent mood.
