Gov. Hickenlooper declares disaster emergency for Pine Ridge

Gov. John Hickenlooper signed an executive order Monday declaring a disaster emergency for the Pine Ridge Fire burning south of DeBeque.

The order authorizes $500,000 to the state’s Disaster Emergency Fund for firefighting efforts at the Pine Ridge site, according to a press release from the governor’s office. The order also authorizes the Colorado National Guard to help in the firefighting effort.

A second executive order signed Monday by Hickenlooper authorized the Colorado National Guard to help contain Eagle County’s Eby Creek Fire.
