Gov. Ritter to speak at Spring Fling

Gov. Bill Ritter and other Democrats holding state office will headline the Mesa County Democrats’ Spring Fling fundraising dinner tonight.

Ritter, U.S. Rep. John Salazar, whose 3rd District includes most of the Western Slope, and Secretary of State Bernie Buescher will speak at the event.

Other speakers include county Democratic Party Chairwoman Martelle Daniels and state party Chairwoman Pat Waak.

Dinner at the Holiday Inn begins at 5:30 p.m. A few tickets remain available at the door for $45 per person.

• Colorado Sen. Mark Udall will open his Grand Junction office at 2:15 p.m. today in Room 215 of the Wayne N. Aspinall Federal Building, 400 Rood Ave.

Udall also is scheduled to tour the Grand Junction Veterans Affairs Medical Center and St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as Talbott Farms in Palisade.
