UPDATE: Handgun discharges at DIA

DENVER — A passenger at Denver International Airport who placed an undeclared handgun in his luggage won’t face criminal charges.

The Denver Post reports (http://goo.gl/2LUeu) that a man on his way to Kansas City placed an undeclared handgun in his luggage, prompting officers to investigate and discharge the gun at the airport early today.

The passenger did not try to take the handgun through security in an unchecked bag.
