Delta picks new chief clinical officer

Jody Roeber, the director of cost and quality improvement for Delta County Memorial Hospital, has accepted a position as the hospital’s new chief clinical officer.

Roeber served as health services coordinator for Delta County School District 50 from 1987 to 2005 and has 31 years of nursing experience. She became the director of nursing education at Delta-Montrose Technical College in 2005 and has served as Delta County Memorial Hospital’s full-time director of cost and quality improvement since June 2011.

Hearing loss meeting Saturday

 

The Western Colorado Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America will host its free monthly meeting from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Center for Independence, 740 Gunnison Ave.

Dr. Jeanette Sadler of Colorado West Otolaryngologists will speak at this month’s meeting about hearing devices and communicating with a hearing service provider to get the most benefit out of a hearing device. The meeting will be captioned and light refreshments will be served. Members and non-members are invited.

Community offers diabetes classes

 

Community Hospital will begin another round of its monthly diabetes education classes.

The classes take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the first four Wednesdays of each month, although some months may vary. The program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and led by certified diabetes educators.

A physician’s order may be required to attend classes and insurance may cover the cost of the class. Call 256-6303 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Montrose Memorial donates house

 

Montrose Memorial Hospital recently donated a house at 847 S. Fifth St. to Habitat for Humanity with the stipulation Habitat find a new location for the house.

The house will be relocated to an area in downtown Montrose. The home used to house medical and nursing students but is no longer needed for that purpose. The house will be used to host the Welcome Home Montrose Dream Job program.
