Heavy rains could cause flooding around Colorado
DENVER — The heat wave is over but now the monsoons are here.
Heavy rains are expected around the state today, including Denver and parts of southern and western Colorado.
Flash flood watches are in effect from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. for areas including El Paso County, the Upper Arkansas Valley, San Juan Mountains and the Four Corners region. The National Weather Service says flash flooding is likely, especially in areas where the ground is already saturated.
A flash flood watch is also in effect in Utah, including Arches and Canyonlands national parks.
