Hickenlooper raises $1.1M so far for guv’s race

DENVER — Denver Democratic Mayor John Hickenlooper has raised about $1.1 million since entering the Colorado governor’s race.

The Denver Post reports Tuesday that Hickenlooper’s first fundraising filing showed he received money from about 5,000 donors. Hickenlooper announced his candidacy for governor Jan. 12 after Gov. Bill Ritter decided not to seek re-election.

Hickenlooper’s Republican opponent, Scott McInnis, raised more than $550,000 since January. He raised $1 million last year. Another Republican candidate, Dan Maes, says he raised about $62,000 this first-quarter.
