Homework: Kids Voting Wish Tree October 20, 2008

As part of learning civic involvement and Kids Voting Mesa County, Chipeta Elementary School had a Wish Tree Ceremony.

A tree was donated by Bookcliff Gardens and students’ wishes will be attached to it.

Here are some of the wishes.

Jeremiah Peterson, kindergarten
“I wish for the whole class to be respectful, responsible and safe every day.”

Randy Roy, first grade
“I wish for computers in the classroom to work on.”

Kelsie Kerr, second grade
“I wish there was no more war.”

Azhane Nailor, third grade
“I wish that people around the world would be nice to each other.”

Clarissa Berry, fourth grade
“I wish everyone in the U.S.A. treated others the way they wanted to be treated.”

Arnulfo Ibarra, fifth grade
“I wish there was no more pollution because a lot of animals are dying. We are the cause of it. If we don’t do anything about it, the world will come to an end. All the rainforests are taken down, and we’re losing medicines we need to live. In the future, if there is one, the ones we love will be the ones who suffer.”
