The cause of death and identity of a man found in the desert Saturday were not released Sunday.

A passer-by near 29 Road north of Interstate 70 found the body Saturday evening and called 911.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department characterized the death as suspicious.

The Mesa County Coroner received the body last night, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Lisa McCammon.

McCammon had no other new information to release.

The coroner’s office did not release any information about an autopsy when contacted Sunday.
