Infant in serious condition after creek rescue

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A 15-month-old Steamboat Springs boy who fell into Butcherknife Creek earlier this month is in serious condition.

Steamboat Today says Steamboat Springs police think Edwin Rodriguez wandered from his home the morning of June 4 and fell into the downtown creek.

His grandfather found him about 400 feet from the family’s home.

A witness performed CPR on the boy, who was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center before being airlifted to Denver.
