July a busy time in Junction art exhibit world
The summer sun sizzles in July and the opening art exhibits are just as hot.

An art opening and reception featuring paintings by Maggie Cook, photography by Katherine Lopez, stained glass by Karen Kiefer and works by The Outsiders will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Grand Junction City Hall, 250 N. The Art Center’s, First Friday art reception is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 1, at 1803 N. Seventh St. Opening exhibits are “A Continuous Scape,” featuring works by Toru Sugita; “A Child’s World,” highlighting works by Fumiyo Yoshikawa; and “Push, Pull ... Beg, Borrow and Steal,” the student, instructor and open studio exhibit. “Augusta Lee Fix: The First Days of Summer,” an exhibit to celebrate the grand opening of The Secret Garden: Augusta’s Tea room, will happen at 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Planet Earth and the 4 Directions Galley and The Secret Garden (in the alley), 524 Colorado Ave. Call 256-9630 for information.
