Juvenile stops train service
A juvenile’s illegal presence on Union Pacific Railroad property temporarily disrupted train service Wednesday, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
The juvenile, whose name, age and gender were not released by the department Sunday, entered the railroad property south of 1227 Ute Ave. after being accused of kicking and hitting people in the area of 12th Street and Ute Avenue. The child’s actions caused the victims to experience pain and minor injury, according to police.
The juvenile’s presence on railroad property caused at least one train to be stopped. Grand Junction Police Cpl. Suzette Freidenberger said Sunday she did not know how long the train was stopped.
The case has been forwarded to the Mesa County District Attorney’s office. The juvenile may face an assault charge.
