Kids say they were chased by chain-wielding man

COLORADO SPRINGS — Two men have been arrested after children told police they were chased around a school playground by a man with a chain who was threatening to strangle them.

Colorado Springs police say they tracked down Joey Perez and had to use a stun gun to arrest him on Tuesday. Perez told officers he wasn’t chasing the children, he was chasing after a man who had assaulted him.

Juan Rodriguez was arrested at the playground a short time later.

Perez faces charges of felony menacing, and Rodriguez faces charges of third-degree assault of an at-risk adult. Police offered no explanation for the charges.
