Lands group to discuss road closures Thursday

The Public Lands Access Association on Thursday will discuss its plans to reopen 10 roads in Garfield and Mesa counties during Freedom!Colorado’s monthly meeting.

Brandon Siegfried, who organized efforts to keep open roads in Mesa County that might be closed in the new resource management plan for the Grand Junction Office of the Bureau of Land Management, will speak on behalf of the access association.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Junction City Council chamber, 250

N. Fifth St. and is open to the public.

I’m a frequent user of roads to access public lands, but I also support BLM’s proposed balance - protecting some areas and opening others. We should all start compromising. There are plenty of roads for all of us.
