Learning Works moves and expands store

Elizabeth, Patrick and Christy Prickett are busy setting up the new Learning Works store location at 1938 N. First St.

Learning Works, the well-known educational supply store in downtown Grand Junction, has moved to 1938 N. First St. in the Hillcrest Plaza shopping center.

“We moved for the windows,” said owner Christy Prickett.

The new store has a solid row of windows, allowing the Pricketts to creatively display its goods, which they hope will generate more traffic into the store. “Plus we’ve gained lots of square feet,” Prickett said.

The new space will house a number of other amenities including a meeting room, coffee shop and a post office substation.

The store will also expand it’s wide inventory of teacher education supplies, home help books and educational stores.

“We are definately looking into getting things that you just can’t buy in Grand Junction like tiny chair and table sets and chalkboards.

By summer, the store hopes to be offering continuing education classes for teachers and home-school parents.
