Crossroads Wine & Spirits will move from 2546 Rimrock Ave. to a new building near the intersection of 24 and F roads as early as the end of August.

The store will have a new layout and an in-house, gourmet-food shop but the same prices and variety of wine, beer and liquor, said Jerry Sica, marketing director for Crossroads.  The food shop will operate separately from the liquor store and likely will open in November, he said.

“We’re going to model it after some of the boutique food shops in Denver,” Sica said, and include cheese, steak and seafood items. Two chefs will help Sica design food-preparation ideas for customers.

Sica said he may ask the Grand Junction City Council for permission to serve small amounts of liquor-infused mixed drinks. Crossroads serves beer and wine at in-store tastings.

After five years at Crossroads’ current location, Sica said it was time for a change.

Not only did he want more space, but Sica also wanted to attract more customers who head to the 24 and F roads area to shop or pass that intersection on their drive home from work to Fruita or the Redlands.

“We needed to make ourselves more convenient,” Sica said.

The new, two-story building will sit between American National Bank at 2399 F Road
and Firestone Complete Auto Care at 607 24 Road.
