Breakfast to benefit teen heart patient

Grand Junction Harley-Davidson & BMW, 2747 Crossroads Blvd., will sponsor a home-style breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday for Jenna Fisher, a local teenager who is awaiting a second heart transplant in Denver.

Fisher’s parents rotate traveling to Denver each week so they can maintain their jobs and support their family. All proceeds from the breakfast and a prize raffle will be used to cover medical and living expenses.

The breakfast will include biscuits and gravy, breakfast casserole, bacon and fruit salad. Call 245-0812, ext. 10, for information.

Boy Scouts plan fundraising dance

Boy Scouts Troop 323 in Fruita will sponsor a fundraising dance for sixth- through eighth-grade students from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fruita Middle School gym. Entry fee is $3. Call 858-0666.

Robotics team to sponsor dinner, auction

The Plateau Valley Robotics Team will sponsor a silent auction and Navajo taco dinner at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Mesa Community Center.  Proceeds will assist the team in buying parts for the robot as well as traveling to San Diego and Denver in attempt to win both regionals. White Ribbon Award nominees sought

The deadline is Feb. 23 to submit nominations for the White Ribbon Award and the Business of the Year award, given by The Human Services Council of Mesa County.

The White Ribbon Award recognizes the outstanding efforts of a current or past nonprofit organization board or advisory council member.

The Business of the Year award recognizes exceptional philanthropic contributions in Mesa County and is presented to the company that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to philanthropy through financial support and the creation of a corporate culture that encourages and motives the employees to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.
