Relay for Life rally planned tonight
A rally for the 2010 American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Grand Junction will take place from 5:30 to 7 tonight at the DoubleTree Hotel, 743 Horizon Drive.
This year’s theme is Cruzin’ for a Cure. The rally includes team registration, food and music, team recognition for 2009 and an appearance by local a cancer survivor, 24-year-old Megan Kemmis.

College student named to dean’s list
Emily Nock of Grand Junction was named to the dean’s list for the first semester of the 2009-10 school year at Hope College in Holland, Mich.
Applications for scholarships accepted
Western Rockies Federal Credit Union is accepting applications for four $1,000 scholarships.
Three of the scholarships are for degree programs of higher education at schools in Mesa, Garfield, Eagle or Pitkin counties. The fourth scholarship can be applied toward a degree program anywhere in Colorado.
The student must be a member of Western Rockies Federal Credit Union. Applications and criteria can be obtained from school counselors, financial aid offices or any Western Rockies Federal Credit Union branch or in the links section at http://www.western rockiesfcu.org.
Application deadline is May 1.
