Longtime member of GJ Rotary dies

Grand Junction woman Karen Berryman, known for her extensive community involvement, died Friday afternoon.

She was 53.

Rotary Club president Dale Beede said Berryman, a longtime member of the Rotary, was an “active member” and a “person who gave and never asked for a thing.”

“Of about 150 members of the club, we all cared about and loved Karen,” Beede said. “She was wonderful to us and wonderful to the community. There’s a lot of people who are hurting today.”

She had been a member of the service club since 1994 and had served as the president of Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Berryman leaves behind four children and her husband, William.

She was born in Bottineau, N.D., and attended college at the University of North Dakota.
