Man arrested in Pear Park shooting

A Glade Park man was jailed Saturday in connection with a drive-by shooting in Pear Park, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department said.

Ryan Michael Ricks, 28, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a weapon by a previous offender. He was named in an unrelated warrant for failing to appear in a drug case.

Ricks is suspected of driving up to a home at 491 Apple Blossom Road on Friday morning and firing a gunshot that cut through a fence and ricocheted off the residence, the Sheriff’s Department said. Nobody was injured. Authorities said Ricks knew the three occupants, who were home during the incident.

Ricks was being held in Mesa County Jail on two bonds totalling $110,000.
