Man injured in I-70 rollover
A man was injured and westbound Interstate 70 was shut down briefly this morning following a rollover accident near the Horizon Drive exit, Grand Junction police said.
The accident happened around 5:10 a.m. when a pickup heading west on I-70 hit a patch of ice and rolled into the median, partially ejecting the man and briefly pinning him under the truck, police spokeswoman Kate Porras said.
The man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with “fairly minor” injuries, Porras said. She didn’t know where the man is from.
Westbound I-70 was closed for about an hour between the Clifton and Horizon Drive exits.
Police say they want to remind drivers to slow down following a snowfall.
