Man killed in accident Friday identified

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has identified 63 year old Robert “Bob” P. Bivins as the man who died in a vehicle accident Friday while turning from F Road onto U.S. Highway 6 & 50.

Bivins died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the coroner’s office, after a Waste Management truck hit his pickup truck as Bivins pulled out into traffic in an attempt to turn left. The Waste Management truck driver was not not harmed in the crash.

Toxicology reports have been ordered, but drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.
