Man shot in GJ neighborhood
One man was hospitalized after a Sunday night shooting in a Grand Junction neighborhood, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, who was not identified, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by private vehicle with serious injuries, Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Heather Benjamin said.
It was unclear if the man was shot, Benjamin said, but his injuries were the result of an incident at the same 3055 Eagle Wood Court residence where deputies were dispatched at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Charges in Sunday’s shooting at 3055 Eagle Wood Court had not been filed as of Sunday night.
Investigators were interviewing multiple people, Benjamin said. But she did not know if those being interviewed were suspects or witnesses.
Benjamin confirmed a shooting did happen at 3055 Eagle Wood Court because shell casings were found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, she said.
