An autopsy is scheduled today for a man in what Rangely police and agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are investigating as a homicide.

Someone alerted authorities with information that a possible murder had occurred at a Rangely home.

On Friday afternoon, a Rangely police officer and deputy from the Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Department responded to the unsecured home and found the body of a white man, who appeared to have been murdered, according to a news release from the Rangely Police Department.

Police did not release the address where the body was found or any other information in the case.
