Maraschin tapped to lead Business Incubator Center

Grand Valley native Jon Maraschin has been named executive director of the Business Incubator Center and will take the position Aug. 29. He replaces Chris Reddin, who resigned July 1 after holding the position since 2007.

Maraschin has more than 15 years experience as a commercial banker in Grand Junction, Steamboat Springs and Salt Lake City, as well as experience in retail management and starting and operating small businesses.

According to a press release issued by the center, he currently chairs the Community Hospital Foundation Board an is a Navy veteran who served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, with an emphasis in accounting, from the University of Utah.

“I believe that we have the right organization, staff and opportunity with the Business Incubator to influence the future of our region through economic development. I am humbled by the opportunity to take a leadership role as we move forward,” Maraschin said.

Founded in 1987, the incubator center lays claim to launching 260 companies that have provided approximately 10,000 jobs and more than $53 million in capital investment.
