That’s the way the system works, Gary.  If you had done a little research you would have known that.  Those aren’t Medicaid signups, they’re Medicaid applications.  Early on in the process of signing up for insurance, you have to enter your income.  If it’s below a certain level, you have to go to PEAK and fill out a Medicaid application.  Once you’re denied, and most people WILL be denied, you enter your case number/denial into the Connectforhealthco website and you get to continue your application for regular insurance.  The Medicaid process is the chokepoint in the system right now.  It takes about three weeks to be denied.  Did the State anticipate and staff for the demand?  I doubt it.  However, once these Medicaid applications are cleared, people will sign up for regular insurance and the numbers will reverse.

I think if you’re going to write about something, you should at least put in some effort to research it.  Go online and get familiar with the process.  You don’t have to buy anything until it’s time to hit “Check Out”.
