Memorial service for Fine set for Saturday
A memorial service for slain Grand Junction dentist Terry Fine is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at The Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St. A reception will follow across the street at the Blue Moon Bar & Grill, 120 N. Seventh St.
Fine, 61, was a successful dentist at Fine & Naranja Family Dentistry, where he practiced for years. Fine also was an active community member, volunteering for a host of causes, including the Grand Junction Lions Club and as a volunteer for the Children’s Dental Health Week.
Fine is survived by his wife, Linda, multiple children and grandchildren, and his mother.
Terry Fine and his friend Flo Gallagher died from their injuries after they were gunned down by a 22-year-old man outside Fine’s home on Oct. 11. Police still are seeking a motive in the case.
Linda Fine also was shot during the altercation and was treated at St. Mary’s Hospital for several days.
Terry Fine is remembered as the “ultimate family man,” who looked forward to vacations, holidays and barbecues, according to a statement from his family.
“In addition to his family, Terry had so many wonderful friends. He always looked forward to a new activity or project. He had a passion for traveling, fishing, golfing, boating and camping. His adventures have taken him on countless places around the world,” family said.
“Thank you to all who have known and loved Terry, and now as he would say, ‘Get on with it.’”
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado for Camp Good Grief.
