Mesa County foreclosure filings, sales, up year-over-year
Mesa County foreclosure filings and sales totaled 370 and 278, respectively, in the second quarter of 2010, marking a 40 percent increase for filings and a nearly 400 percent increase for sales year-over-year.
Local filings decreased in the second quarter compared to the first quarter by 6.8 percent, according to a report released Thursday by the Colorado Division of Housing. Sales increased by 7.8 percent during the same period.
Second quarter foreclosure numbers looked rosier statewide, with a 15.7 percent decrease in filings year-over-year and a 17.7 percent decrease year-over-year in Colorado foreclosure sales. Filings fell 8.1 percent statewide quarter-to-quarter and sales decreased 12 percent in the second quarter compared to the first quarter.
