Mesa County names new IT director

Mesa County has hired Grand Junction resident Frank Whidden as the new director for the county’s Information Technology Department.

Whidden will leave his current post with SunGard Higher Education to join Mesa County’s leadership team effective August 22.

“The Board of Commissioners’ goal in hiring a new I.T. Director is to improve our customer service and the effectiveness of our I.T. systems,” Mesa County Administrator Chantal Unfug said. “Frank has the expertise to guide our long-term I.T. strategy, while helping us improve our efficiency and the bottom line for the public we serve.”
