Mesa County coroner seeks re-election
Mesa County coroner Dean Havlik announced Thursday his plans to seek re-election.
Havlik, who is a board-certified forensic pathologist, said that in the three years he’s been in the post:
The office implemented a new paperless system for its reports.
The office now maintains detailed data collection of deaths in the county with a new, user-friendly system that makes it easier to analyze.
He instituted the practice of releasing an annual report.
And he hired a new deputy coroner.
“I have enjoyed my time as coroner these past three years, and a lot has been accomplished in this short period of time,” he said in a statement.
