Missing elderly man found deceased in Utah

Lou Schneider

An 81-year-old man reported missing Saturday was found last night by Grand County (Utah) Sheriff’s deputies when they responded to an unattended death about 11 miles west of the Colorado border, police said today.

Police closed the investigation into the whereabouts of Lou Schneider with the discovery, and the death is not believed to be suspicious.

Schneider was reported missing by his family on Saturday evening, who believe he went missing sometime after eating a meal at the Golden Corral restaurant on Highway 6 & 50 in Grand Junction in the early evening.

Schneider was believed to be driving a 4-door, 1999 green Buick Century, with Colorado license plates 551WYA, when last seen, but it is not clear if authorities discovered the vehicle when finding the man’s body last night.
