Missing Rifle man found
Law enforcement authorities say they have located a 37-year-old Rifle man who had been the subject of a search since around noon Monday.
The man had suggested in a phone call to a family member that he had cut his wrist, Rifle police said in a news release. He gave a very general description of his location, and searchers had focused their search Monday on the Palomino Park area near the city limits.
He was spotted around 9:10 a.m. today near 3924 County Road 233, and sheriff’s deputies and Rifle police responded and contacted him “without incident,” according to police.
Police did not indicate his condition and authorities couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
The search had resumed this morning after being suspended overnight. Sheriff’s deputies, Rifle firefighters, county search and rescue crews, dog teams and a helicopter crew had joined in the search.
