Missing Snowmass man died in accidental fall
ASPEN — Authorities in Aspen say a man missing for over two weeks accidentally fell to his death from a bridge.
The body of 28-year-old George Aldrich was found Monday under the Maroon Creek Bridge near a bus stop where he was last seen on Nov. 27. The Pitkin County coroner performed an autopsy Tuesday and ruled the death an accident.
Aldrich was originally from Cranston, R.I. and worked at the Snowmass Ski Area as a ski lift operator.
The Providence Journal reports that his father is the director of admissions at Providence’s La Salle Academy. The school issued a statement thanking everyone who supported the family during the search.
