Montrose electric co-op offers D.C. trip to area teen

MONTROSE — The Delta-Montrose Electric Association is offering a trip to Washington D.C. next June to the National Rural Electric Tour to one student in Montrose or Delta counties. Applications are due Jan. 2, 2009.

Ryan Henn, DMEA spokesman, said applicants must be 16 years old by the time of the trip on June 11, 2009, and live in a household that gets its power from the electric cooperative. Students must submit a 250-word essay, a 10- to 15-minute video, drawing, computer graphic or other creative work related to electricity.

Applications can be downloaded from http://www.dmea.com or by calling Henn at 240-1210. Applications can be mailed to Henn at DMEA at P.O. Box 910, Montrose CO 81402.
