Montrose installing roundabout

MONTROSE — Beginning Monday, construction on Woodgate Road at the intersection with Ogden Road will close three of the four legs of the intersection.

The $1.5 million project will align the east and west sides of the road. Currently, the east and west sides of Ogden do not align, forcing motorists to drive a short distance on Woodgate to cross the road.

The area will be closed to vehicles and pedestrian traffic until the project’s anticipated completion in November.

The project was awarded to Ridgway Valley Enterprises, which will install a roundabout after replacing a culvert in the area.

The city of Montrose said recent studies concluded motorists will experience fewer and shorter delays with the roundabout than they would with stop signs or traffic lights.
