Montrose vote awaits absentee ballots

MONTROSE — The closely contested Montrose County School Board race between Barbara Bynum and Tom West has been deemed to close too call by the Montrose County Elections department, which still awaits last-minute ballots.

Last week West had a 61-vote lead with 3,142 votes to Bynum’s 3,081 in their District D race. The elections office confirmed that approximately 108 ballots have yet to be counted.

According to Bill Mast of the elections office, the deadline for all absentee or overseas ballots is 4:30 p.m. today.

In District B, Seth Felix ran uncontested. In District F, Phoebe Benziger ran unopposed.
