Montrose’s Keltz claims 4A state golf title
Montrose senior Kala Keltz started today two strokes off the lead and ended it in the lead by two strokes as she claimed the Class 4A girls golf state championship.
Keltz sank a three-foot par putt on No. 18 at Broken Tee Golf Course in Englewood to card the tournament’s lone round under par, a 70, which gave her 146 strokes for the tourney, two better than Jefferson Academy’s Jennifer Kupchom, the runner-up.
“It was crazy,” Keltz said of her final round and the state title. “It still hasn’t really sunk in.”
