Monument forces second game for Major boys state title

Monument Little League blasted North Boulder early to avenge its one Major Boys state baseball tournament loss Wednesday and force a second game for the championship.
Monument scored 13 runs in the first inning on 10 hits and defeated North Boulder 15-1.
Beau Thornton hit a three-run home run in the first inning for Monument’s only extra-base hit.
Monument pitchers Zach Rush and Carson Crone combined to scatter two hits over four innings.
Monument will play North Boulder at 6 tonight to determine who will represent Colorado in next week’s Southwest Regional tournament in Waco, Texas.
