More opposition to Million
The Colorado River Water Conservation District has joined the chorus of voices opposing the plan to pipe millions of gallons of water annually from Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Wyoming to Colorado’s Front Range cities — and with good reason.
The pipeline project, proposed by Fort Collins entrepreneur Aaron Million, would cost billions of dollars, and there is little certainty it could be repaid. Worse, the project could adversely affect western Colorado’s ability to use all of its water in the Colorado River, not to mention harm recreation and river habitat in the Green and Colorado Rivers.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission should reject the pipeline.
