More rain could be in store for valley

The Grand Valley could see another round of thunderstorms this evening, as the seasonal monsoon continues to push rain and humidity into the region.

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction is calling for a 30 percent chance of precipitation tonight in Grand Junction, noting that some storms could produce heavy rainfall. There’s a chance of rain each day through Friday.

Monday night’s storms officially dropped 0.2 inches of rain at Grand Junction Regional Airport, though larger amounts were reported elsewhere. That rain, combined with the threat of rain this evening, forced indoors tonight’s Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers concert. The concert, originally scheduled to take place at the Fruita section of the James M. Robb Colorado River State Park, will instead be held at the Mesa Theater & Club.
