Computer at motor vehicle office down

Motorists who planned to license their vehicles today in Mesa County will have to wait at least until Wednesday.

The system that connects the county to the Colorado Department of Revenue is expected to be down for the rest of today after it went out on Monday, Mesa County Clerk Sheila Reiner said.

Motorists who already have licensed their vehicles in the county can renew their licenses because the county already has their information, Reiner said.

People who need new license or title work, however, will have to wait a day, Reiner said.

It might be possible for motorists to get a temporary permit extension if the paperwork originated in Mesa County, Reiner said.
