State motor vehicle computer still down
The state system that provides motor vehicle titling and registration services in Colorado remains out of service.
That means that counties continue to be unable to provide same-day printing of vehicle titles. Clerks expect that they will be unable to offer same-day titles through this week
Separately, state officials told that the on-line renewal system has been modified.
“When you renew on-line and you are within 10 days of incurring late penalties the system used to warn you,” Mesa County Clerk Sheila Reiner said. Now, it no longer generates a warning.
Motorists who renew on-line now will receive two printable receipts that will serve as the vehicle registration when presented to law enforcement with the expired registration card.
Law enforcement officials have been notified of the changes, Reiner said..
