Motorcycle crash on Glade Park kills Junction man

A 58-year-old Grand Junction man was killed Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving crashed into a barbed wire fence on DS Road on Glade Park.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken in serious condition to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he later died, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.

An accident report indicated the man was driving his motorcycle west on DS Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control near a curve in the road.

The motorcycle went off the road and struck a barbed wire fence.

The driver was thrown 44 feet off the motorcycle, the State Patrol said.
